RACHA is the debut EP from Sydney producer and multi-instrumentalist Sonny Grin. A musical ode to the home and studio he lived and created in from 2019 to the end of 2021, Sonny and some close mates had a deal where they would fix up the house for cheaper rent. This allowed Sonny to take over the Granny Flat, turning the space into a fully functioning recording studio that saw dozens of artists write, record and rehearse during his time there.

The creative solace of La Kookaracha, or affectionately known as “The Racha”, allowed Sonny to shape his sound and grow as an artist and producer during the COVID-19 lockdowns. “I’m so thankful that I was living with some incredibly supportive friends and had a space where I could create and write without any hindrance. We worked hard for months making the house liveable, but the benefits of having my own studio during lockdown were immeasurable. I’ve always been comfortable in my own company, and spending each day working on my production skills, my understanding of recording techniques and finding my own compositional style meant I was able to write a cohesive series of tunes which then shaped the EP” - Sonny Grin
